After flying high against the Northglenn Norsemen last Thursday, the Boulder Panthers came back down to earth. Boulder took a 55-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rocky Mountain on Saturday. Boulder has struggled against Rocky Mountain recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kyle Blauch, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bruce Matthews, who scored 11 points.
Boulder has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Rocky Mountain, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boulder will face off against Westminster at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Rocky Mountain, Rocky Mountain and Broomfield will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Broomfield will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
