The Grovetown Warriors lost against the Butler Bulldogs on December 2nd, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Grovetown fell 39-28 to Butler. While losing is never fun, Grovetown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 356th, while Butler is ranked 46th).
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rebecca Jones, who scored six points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season.
Brayla Harris was her usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with eight rebounds for Butler. The game was Harris' seventh in a row with at least ten points. Kam Gresham was another key contributor, scoring two points along with five rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Grovetown and nudges their season record down to 1-7. As for Butler, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Grovetown's road trip will continue as they head out to face Burke County at 1:00 p.m. on December 27th. Burke County is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. Butler and Lakeside will round out the year against one another at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday at.
