Jordan Jackson in the first quarter,
Desert Edge (Goodyear, Ariz.) was up 49-14 at the half.
Each side put up seven points during the third quarter, and the fourth quarter began with the margin still at 35.
Hernandez and
Elijah Marks teamed up to form a great passing pair. Marks has now caught five touchdowns this season, while Hernandez has thrown 25.
The Scorpions also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 14-7.
The defeat comes as a step back for Shadow Ridge, which notched a 27-24 victory over Cactus in its previous outing. The loss snapped Shadow Ridge's three-game winning streak.
Desert Edge (5-0) will play a III Section VII game against Youngker next week, while Shadow Ridge (3-1) will take on Sierra Linda also in a III Section VII game.
