Monroe strolled past Bainbridge with points to spare, taking the game 57-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Monroe.
Monroe can attribute much of their success to Justin Burns, who scored 12 points along with 3 steals and 3 blocks. Another player making a difference was Carvias Robertson, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds.
Several Bearcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aj Grant, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds and 7 steals. The match was Grant's third in a row with at least ten points. Tyrese ?Ty? Jones was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 6 rebounds.
Monroe now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Bainbridge, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monroe will face off against Lee County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Lee County is ranked 67th, while Monroe is ranked 55th). As for Bainbridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Thomasville at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Thomasville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Thursday.
