Basketball Recap: Seth Bledsoe's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cornerstone Prep Academy over Johnson Ferry Christian Academy

Cornerstone Prep Academy fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Johnson Ferry Christian Academy on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 101-89 to the Johnson Ferry Christian Academy Saints. Cornerstone Prep Academy has struggled against Johnson Ferry Christian Academy recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Cornerstone Prep Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Seth Bledsoe, who went 9 of 16 en route to 28 points and eight boards. The game was Bledsoe's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Stone, who went 8 for 20 on his way to 24 points and five rebounds.

Parker Henderson was his usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-6 from downtown and dropping a triple-double on 29 points, 11 boards, and 12 assists for Johnson Ferry Christian Academy. With that strong performance, Henderson is now averaging an impressive 15.6 points per game. Another player making a difference was Micah Strech, who went 7 of 9 en route to 15 points and eight assists.

Cornerstone Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 13-8.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Pinecrest Academy the next time they take the court. Cornerstone Prep Academy will head out to face Pinecrest Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Johnson Ferry Christian Academy will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
