Iroquois West hasn't had much luck against Milford recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Raiders will take on the Bearcats at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Iroquois West was able to grind out a solid win over South Newton, taking the game 6-3.

Autumn Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Kyla Dewitt was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Natalie Ridenious also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Iroquois West kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.2 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 8.8.
Meanwhile, Milford made easy work of Watseka on Monday and carried off a 13-5 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bearcats.
Kami Muehling was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits. Muehling was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Lucht, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 11 contests. Joie Girdler was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Milford's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-9. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Iroquois West, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-14 record this season.
Iroquois West came up short against Milford in their previous matchup last Monday, falling 8-4. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
