Azle and Brewer are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Hornets will face off against the Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Azle is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Last Tuesday, Azle earned an 11-6 win over Granbury. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.
Fallon Inglet made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Inglet was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Haley Carlson and Bella Tipton did most of the damage at the plate: Carlson scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4, while Tipton went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Those two runs gave Carlson a new career-high. Kaylee Daniels was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.
Azle kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Brewer entered their tilt with Granbury on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 9-5.
Like Azle, Brewer also got a great game from a two-way player: Cozette Tyson. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Tyson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Alyssa Wilson was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kamren Pride, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Azle's record is now 8-11-2. As for Brewer, their record now sits at 16-11.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Azle hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Brewer struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Azle might still be hurting after the 14-6 defeat they got from Brewer when the teams last played back in March. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
