Softball Recap: Lake-Lehman Wins Going Away Against Wyoming Area

Lake-Lehman won the last time they faced Wyoming Area and things went their way on Monday too. The Knights were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Warriors. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Hannah Chipego made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kirsten Finarelli, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Brooke Reilly was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.

The win made it two in a row for Lake-Lehman and bumps their season record up to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Wyoming Area, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-2 record.

Lake-Lehman has already played their next game, an 11-10 win against Pittston on the 18th. As for Wyoming Area, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Wyalusing Valley on the 18th.
