Dora extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Hondo, 65-52. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Coyotes.
Lake Arthur's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Velo threw for 125 and three touchdowns and Dalton had 87 yards receiving. On the ground Miguel Rubio chipped in 209 yards. Leonel Velo helped Lake Arthur's passing attack out by catching two balls for 27 yards.
San Jon/Grady's Jacob Benally and Jay Foust have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Benally has thrown for 951 yards this season, while Foust, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 24 catches for 289 yards. The Panthers' Rubio leads the league in rushing yards with 1066.
The marquee game in 6-Man District 1 (6 Man) this week will be the clash between Dora and the Eagles. Mason McBee's team enters the contest ranked second in the state, while Clovis Christian ranks 15th.
Lake Arthur took down Corey Robinson's team 55-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Velo in the win.
