Lake Stevens is a perfect 9-0 against Jackson since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Timberwolves at 5:00 p.m. Lake Stevens is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Lake Stevens is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Glacier Peak: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Vikings blew the Grizzlies out of the water with a 49-14 final score. With the Vikings ahead 28-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Blake Moser was his usual excellent self, throwing for 260 yards and two touchdowns while completing 81.5% of his passes, and also rushing for 46 yards and a pair of scores. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Max Cook got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Lake Stevens, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Cook, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, the third road matchup was the charm for Jackson, as they earned their first away win of the season. They walked away with a 21-14 victory over Kamiak on Friday. The game was the first time the Timberwolves have beaten the Knights on their field since October 7, 2016.
Lake Stevens better keep an eye on Tre Austin. He was instrumental in Jackson's win, rushing for 201 yards and two TDs on only nine carries. With that strong performance, Austin is now averaging an impressive 105.8 rushing yards per game.
Jackson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 267 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kamiak only rushed for 173.
Lake Stevens' record now sits at 5-0. As for Jackson, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-3.
Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Jayvian Ferrell and Austin. Ferrell just won't slow down this season and has run in 7 touchdowns while averaging 132.6 rushing yards per game. Austin has been a dominant force too and has run in 5 touchdowns while averaging 105.8 rushing yards per game.
Everything came up roses for Lake Stevens against Jackson when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 56-6 victory. In that contest, the Vikings amassed a halftime lead of 42-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
