The Grovetown Warriors''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 37-7 loss at the hands of Lakeside. Grovetown was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lakeside apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Amare Clark threw for 63 yards and a touchdown. Marques Fobbs jr was his top target, picking up 35 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Grovetown's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.6 points per game. As for Lakeside, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grovetown will take on South Effingham at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakeside, they will head out on the road to face off against Effingham County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Effingham County will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
