Eastern Hancock extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday, bumping them up to 8-4. They were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over the Wes-Del Warriors. Considering the Royals have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Nieko Engleking made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Engleking was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lilli Ringer, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Addisyn Trackwell was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
As for Wes-Del, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. Their loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
On Wes-Del's side, Rylei McCord and Marley Bertram did some serious damage despite the final result: McCord went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Bertram went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that McCord has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Keylie Byrd, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastern Hancock will face off against Northeastern at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so the Royals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Wes-Del, they will be playing at home against Tri-Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
