Caleb Leisenring Tops All Others This Week
Starting off the list is Salem's Caleb Leisenring, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Leisenring made two total tackles. He also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Salem is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise.
Salem's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Leisenring and Salem will welcome Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Friday, Atkins had to settle for second even though Mason Martin put up the best numbers he has all season. Martin rushed for 184 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, and also caught a touchdown. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (109) per game. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.
This season, Martin has caught 3 touchdowns while averaging 25.7 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 28.57 rushing yards per game.

Jamare Lovelace Turns in Season-Best Effort
Sadly, Jamare Lovelace posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Quitman over Mayflower on Friday. Lovelace picked up 108 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He didn't just play on offense: he also forced a fumble and made five total tackles.
Quitman now has a losing record at 3-4. Lovelace and Quitman are taking a road trip to challenge Atkins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Martin Posts Huge Game in 42-41 Defeat
The second Atkins player making an appearance here is Jaden Martin, and for good reason. He rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 105 rushing yards.
On the season, Martin has averaged 29.3 receiving yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after seven games last season, he had four rushing touchdowns. This year he is already up to nine.

Ethan Birmingham Has Career-Day on Friday
On Friday, Salem got the W thanks in part to Ethan Birmingham playing the best football he has all season. Birmingham rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
On the year, Birmingham has averaged 3.4 receiving yards per game.
