The Battle Ground Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 58-20 loss at the hands of Kelso. While losing is never fun, Battle Ground can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 274th, while Kelso is ranked 112th).
Battle Ground lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Skylar Fridriksson, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Battle Ground struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Battle Ground's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-12. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.5 points per game. As for Kelso, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Battle Ground will head out on the road to challenge Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Prairie knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Battle Ground likes a good challenge. As for Kelso, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mountain View at 7:00 p.m.
