Pocomoke hasn't had much luck against Wicomico recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Pocomoke Warriors will host the Wicomico Indians at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Pocomoke took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They snuck past Mardela with a 40-34 win. The victory was some much needed relief for Pocomoke as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Pocomoke's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Donyae Washington, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 21 boards. Washington is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last 33 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Danae Dennis, who posted eight points along with 12 boards and four steals.
Pocomoke smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Wicomico waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They took down the Eagles 55-38. 55 seems to be a good number for the Indians as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Wicomico's win came from a few key players Pocomoke will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Se'Lah Foreman, who went 11 for 22 en route to 24 points in addition to seven assists and six steals. Carlisa Johnson was another key player, going 9 of 19 on her way to 19 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Wicomico pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36.1 points. As for Pocomoke, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-7.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's contest: Pocomoke has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 38.4% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for Wicomico, though, as they've only made 24.6% of their threes this season. Given Pocomoke's sizable advantage in that area, Wicomico will need to find a way to close that gap.
Pocomoke took a serious blow against Wicomico when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 59-24. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Pocomoke was down 30-10.
