Lincoln Southeast's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mike Ngoyi led the charge by scoring 15 points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Taye Moore, who scored 12 points along with six assists and three steals.
Despite the loss, Grand Island still got an impressive performance from Mukadi Mukoma, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds. Mukoma continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Babur Choul, who scored 12 points.
Grand Island struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
The victory got Lincoln Southeast back to even at 2-2. As for Grand Island, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Lincoln Southeast will head out on the road to face off against Bryan at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Bryan's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Grand Island won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hastings on December 16th.
