The North Central Thunderbirds and the Riverton Parke Panthers will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. North Central will be strutting in after a win while Riverton Parke will be coming in after a loss.
In what's become a running theme this season, North Central gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 76-38 win over Vincennes Rivet. That 38 points margin sets a new team best for North Central this season.
Trashaun Cockrell and Ethan Willis were among the main playmakers for North Central as the former dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 assists and the latter dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds. Cockrell continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gaven Simmons, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Riverton Parke suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 57-30 loss at the hands of Southmont. Riverton Parke has struggled against Southmont recently, as their game on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
North Central now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Riverton Parke, they bumped their record down to 3-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
North Central skirted past Riverton Parke 71-68 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will North Central repeat their success, or does Riverton Parke have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
