Baseball Recap: Oakman Wins Going Away Against Carbon Hill

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Oakman and Carbon Hill have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Oakman Wildcats were the clear victor by a 21-8 margin over the Carbon Hill Bulldogs. With that win, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

Oakman let Luke Martin and Brady Jones run wild. Martin went 1-for-2 with five RBI and three runs, while Jones scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Jones has posted since back in February of 2024. Greg Ganey also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Oakman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carbon Hill only posted an OBP of .429.

Oakman's record is now 13-8. As for Carbon Hill, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-12.

Oakman will have a chance to go back-to-back against Carbon Hill: the pair will be back at it again later today.
