Whitehaven had won five straight games and Taniyah Hurt did her part to make it six on Wednesday. The Whitehaven Tigers strolled past the Overton Wolverines with points to spare, taking the game 43-28 which was due in part to Hurt, who posted nine points in addition to six assists and six steals. That's the most assists she has posted since back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Overton had strong showings from Nia Smith, who had eight points and eight rebounds, and Kierra Baldwin, who put up eight points along with five boards and four steals. Smith has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last eight times she's played.

Whitehaven's win bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Overton, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 17-8 record.

Whitehaven didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-27 victory against Arlington on the 28th. As for Overton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-55 loss against Houston on the 28th.
