They were the clear victor by a 83-57 margin over Villa Angela-St. Joseph. The victory was all the more spectacular given Cleveland Central Catholic's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 359th, while the Vikings are ranked 164th).
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Quandell Wright, who scored 13 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Martin, who scored 16 points.
Cleveland Central Catholic's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Villa Angela-St. Joseph, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6.
Cleveland Central Catholic will head out on the road to challenge the Scarabs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Villa Angela-St. Joseph, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 214 points over their last three contests.
