Elbert is preparing for their first  league matchup of the season  on Friday. They will host Calhan  at 7:00  p.m. After  the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents,  one won't be so lucky on Friday.
Last Friday, Elbert took their  game  with ease, bagging  a  48-12 win over Front Range Christian. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Bulldogs.

 On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Elbert's defense and their five sacks.  Jeremiah LaChausse was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up four himself. He has been hot, having also posted six or more  total tackles the last five times he's  played. Elbert received some extra help from  Cole Nay, whose fumble return for a touchdown  made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
 Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Calhan). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Swink 44-0. The Bulldogs have beaten the Lions the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Lions has come to flipping the script.
 Elbert's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Calhan,  the  win  got them back to even at 2-2.
