Everything went their way against the Green Run Stallions on Thursday as they made off with an 11-2 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Ashlyn Tolbert made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.
Tolbert wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hailey Akers, who scored a run while going 2-for-5. Another was Aleigh Earp, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Green Run, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Landstown will venture away from home to take on Great Bridge at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Green Run, they will head out to face off against Bayside at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
