The Edisto Cougars are taking a road trip to square off against the Bridges Prep Buccaneers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Edisto is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.5 runs per game this season.

Edisto will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Whale Branch on Friday. Edisto put the hurt on Whale Branch with a sharp 16-1 victory.

Brantley Thompson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Edisto got a massive performance out of Kaelyn Proveaux, who scored three runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-3. Proveaux also brought in two RBI, marking her first of the season. Sarayah Hart was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.

Edisto always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Bridges Prep lost 21-1 to Barnwell on Friday. The Buccaneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bridges Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lillie Prater, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

The win got Edisto back to even at 2-2. As for Bridges Prep, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Edisto has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .456. However, it's not like Bridges Prep struggles in that department as they've averaged .618. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
