With a playoff game on the line, the Chiefland Indians rose to the challenge on Monday. They put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 55-34 win. Chiefland has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.
Chiefland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Laila Ingram led the charge by scoring 13 points along with four steals. Ingram has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Nyasia Bivins, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds.
The victory got Chiefland back to even at 12-12. As for Dixie County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6.
Chiefland will square off against the Wildcats at TBD on Wednesday. Wildwood will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. Dixie County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
