After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ava, Gainesville was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Alton Comets. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-5 back in April.

Gainesville's record is now 20-4. As for Alton, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7.

Looking ahead, Gainesville will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Norwood at 4:00 p.m. As for Alton, they will head out to take on Fordland at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Comets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
