Fort Wayne Wayne scored a shocking upset when it eliminated Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, 45-6. At the time, the Saints were ranked 10th in the state, while the Generals were 109th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Fort Wayne Wayne, who defeated 10th ranked Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, 45-6. Jaylon Thomas threw for 216 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win.
David Morrison provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran bested Fort Wayne Bishop Luers. He completed 22 passes for 322 yards and also ran for 19 yards. Morrison's favorite target this week was Jake Minich, who caught 11 passes for 146 yards.
He went 7-8 with 1 interception.
Deion Powers was the most successful running back in Summit this week. In 12 carries, he ran for 85 yards as Robert Brown's team bested the Knights. Teammate Keion Powers added to the ground attack by rushing for 42 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran's Morrison and Minich have proven to be a lethal combination. Morrison has thrown for 1,356 yards this season, while Minich, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 41 catches for 489 yards. Donovan Clark from Fort Wayne South Side leads the league in rushing with 583 yards.
As it stands, the Generals are in second, while the Archers are in sixth.
Noah Wezensky and Austin Mack provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Tim Mannigel's team. The longest such play in the league this season, the connection resulted in 96 yards.
