The McComb Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They strolled past Wingfield with points to spare, taking the game 74-57. The victory was just what McComb needed coming off of a 71-49 loss in their prior contest.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Orenthal Claiborne, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Arrington, who scored 20 points along with two steals.
McComb is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Wingfield, they dropped their record down to 1-19 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McComb will take on Lanier at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Lanier is ranked 124th, while McComb is ranked 101st). As for Wingfield, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Richland at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Richland has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5.
