After flying high against Greencastle last Wednesday, Cascade came back down to earth. The Cadets fell just short of the Center Grove Trojans by a score of 5-4 on Monday.
Grace Gray put in work no matter where she played. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in June of 2024. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season.
Gray wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tara Gruca, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI.
Cascade's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Center Grove, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
Coming up, Cascade will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Greenwood at 5:30 p.m. As for Center Grove, they will head out to challenge New Palestine at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
