The San Diego Vaqueros waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They walked away with a 56-47 victory over Falfurrias. 56 seems to be a good number for San Diego as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
San Diego got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Estevan R barrientes out in front who scored 21 points. Austen Reynolds was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Falfurrias' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcos Gonzalez, who scored 14 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Romeo Gutierrez, who scored 12 points.
San Diego's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Falfurrias, their defeat dropped their record down to 25-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Diego will take on the Longhorns at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Falfurrias, they will be playing at home against the Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
