The Legacy Christian Academy Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Dayton Christian WARRIORS at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Legacy Christian Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
On Tuesday, Legacy Christian Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Miami Valley, but they still walked away with a 51-45 victory.
Legacy Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to Jacob Thompson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, and Parker Burke, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The matchup was Burke's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of David Cancino, who scored four points.
Meanwhile, Dayton Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 52-48 to Franklin Monroe. While losing is never fun, Dayton Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 370th, while Franklin Monroe is ranked 93rd).
Legacy Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Dayton Christian, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Legacy Christian Academy came up short against Dayton Christian when the teams last played back in February, falling 69-59. Can Legacy Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
