The Boone Central Cardinals will take on the Cedar Catholic Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Boone Central will be strutting in after a victory while Cedar Catholic will be coming in after a defeat.
On Tuesday, Boone Central made easy work of Fullerton and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cardinals.
Boone Central's got stronger as the match went on, holding Fullerton to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-14, 25-11.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Boone Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooklyn Primrose, who had 17 assists and nine digs. Brittany Sup was another key player, getting five digs and three aces.
Meanwhile, Cedar Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Laurel-Concord-Coleridge.
Cedar Catholic was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Laurel-Concord-Coleridge work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-10, 25-17.
Boone Central's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Cedar Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-16.
Boone Central skirted past Cedar Catholic 3-2 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Trojans' Bailey Hochstein, who had 19 digs and three assists.
