Youngker hadn't done well against Gila Ridge recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Roughriders blew past the Hawks 9-3. The Roughriders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Riley Carteno was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Daniel Rojas was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Youngker hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matches.

Youngker pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Gila Ridge, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.

Youngker has already played their next contest, a 6-5 win against Centennial on the 21st. As for Gila Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-0 loss against Mountain Ridge on the 17th.
