Southampton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Christopher Blue, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Israel Key, who scored ten points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Tj Freeman, who scored 23 points along with seven steals and five assists for Colonial Heights. The team also got some help courtesy of Lashawn Spencer, who scored 12 points along with five assists and five steals.
Southampton's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Colonial Heights, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Southampton will be playing in front of their home fans against Brunswick at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Brunswick will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Southampton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Colonial Heights, they and Thomas Dale will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Colonial Heights' favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
