Baseball Recap: Blue Springs South's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Blue Springs South dropped their record down to 14-3 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Liberty North Eagles by a score of 10-9. If the Jaguars were looking for revenge after losing 8-3 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Liberty North, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.9 runs over those games.

For Liberty North's part, the team relied heavily on Max Lemasters, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. The dominant performance also gave Lemasters a new career-high in hits (two). Another player making a difference was William Bologna, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Blue Springs South and Liberty North should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. The Jaguars (ranked seventh) will meet Lee's Summit West (ranked 67th) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Liberty North will face off against Raymore-Peculiar at 5:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (9 vs. 80).
