Football Recap: Broken Bow Skates Past Holdrege with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Broken Bow). They breezed past the Holdrege Dusters to the tune of 47-3 on Friday. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Dusters recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Leading Broken Bow to victory were Aidan Markham and Zachary Jackson. Markham rushed for 108 yards and one TD on only nine carries, while Jackson rushed for 54 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries. Markham's longest rush was for an impressive 58 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Broken Bow was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 360 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 170 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

Broken Bow's record now sits at 2-4. As for Holdrege, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, Broken Bow will square off against Minden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Holdrege, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Gothenburg at 6:00 p.m. The Swedes' defense has only allowed 10.3 points per game this season, so the Dusters' offense will have their work cut out for them.
