Bishop Kelley is a perfect 4-0 against Bishop McGuinness since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Comets will host the Fighting Irish at 11:00 a.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bishop McGuinness will be up against a hot Bishop Kelley squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Comets blew past Shawnee 12-3 on Tuesday.

Bishop Kelley let Issac Anderson and Macade Manning run wild. Anderson went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Manning went 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave Anderson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Gipson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Bishop McGuinness came out on top against Del City on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run second inning. The Fighting Irish were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Eagles.
William Shughart made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). Bishop McGuinness is 2-1 when Shughart allows one or fewer earned runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Shughart was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Robert Nelson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. He has become a key player for Bishop McGuinness: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 5-9 otherwise. Rex Dahlgren was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Bishop Kelley's victory bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Bishop McGuinness, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bishop Kelley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bishop McGuinness struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Bishop Kelley's way against Bishop McGuinness in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Bishop Kelley made off with a 13-7 victory. Do the Comets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Fighting Irish turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
