The Slippery Rock Rockets will head out on the road to take on the Grove City Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Slippery Rock's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Franklin by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The high-scoring effort was just what the Rockets needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Joslyn Korcok made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Belle Miller, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Grace Greer also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Grove City hadn't done well against Franklin recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Monday. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Knights.
Like Slippery Rock, Grove City also got a great game from a two-way player: Taylor Thompson. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. Thompson was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Remi Stillwagon was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lily Rihel, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
Grove City has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Slippery Rock, their record is now 3-10.
Slippery Rock came up short against Grove City in their previous matchup back in April, falling 14-10. Can the Rockets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
