The Tulelake Honkers pushed their score all the way to 62 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a  71-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hayfork. The  defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tulelake in their matchups with Hayfork: they've now lost three in a row.
 Tulelake's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Anthony Loza, who  scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Loza has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Leo Leon, who  scored 21 points.
 It was another big night for  Levi Cavalli, who  dropped  a double-double on 21 points and 11  rebounds for Hayfork. Cavalli has been hot recently, having posted two or more  steals the last eight times he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Anthony Bonelli, who  dropped  a double-double on 13 points and 12  rebounds.
 Tulelake's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Hayfork, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six games,  which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
 Tulelake will head out on the road to  take on  Dunsmuir at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Dunsmuir has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1. As for Hayfork, they will be playing at home against Happy Camp at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the  match red-hot, with Happy Camp sitting on  three straight  victories and Hayfork on four.
