The Bonneville Lakers are taking a road trip to challenge the Clearfield Falcons at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Bonneville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Bonneville will bounce into Friday's match after beating Northridge, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Lakers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Knights on Wednesday, sneaking past 6-5.
Hudson Taylor made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Taylor was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jet Hirschi, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Bonneville is 6-1 when Hirschi posts two or more runs, but 1-5 otherwise. Zack Ohlin was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clearfield). They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Kearns on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.
Brody Unck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up ten Ks.
On the hitting side, Colt Chambers was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of George Garcia, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Clearfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Bonneville now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Clearfield, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 5-8.
Bonneville might still be hurting after the 12-1 loss they got from Clearfield in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Lakers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
