Softball Recap: Fort Frye Wins Going Away Against Zanesville

Fort Frye won against Marietta on Monday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Cadets blew past the Zanesville Blue Devils 14-1. The Cadets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Carmen Henniger was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Jayden Brown was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Fort Frye is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Zanesville, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Frye will venture away from home to challenge Belpre at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Zanesville, they will head out to face off against West Holmes at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
