Bellevue had lost five straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped down to 4-9 to make it six. They fell just short of the Heritage Academy Eagles by a score of 8-7. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.

Jacob Berning stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayne Ross, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one double.
As for Heritage Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games.
On Heritage Academy's side, Jacob Muse was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Muse was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Heritage Academy: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-6 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gavin Hensley, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Jordan Miles also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Looking ahead, Bellevue will welcome Cooper at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Jaguars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Heritage Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Calvary Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
