The ALA - West Foothills Guardians will face off against the Tonopah Valley Phoenix at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. ALA - West Foothills is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
ALA - West Foothills' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over Odyssey Institute. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Guardians.

Jackson Slade made a splash no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one RBI.
In other batting news, ALA - West Foothills got a massive performance out of Johnny Garcia, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Garcia has become a key player for the Guardians: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Logan Alvarez was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.
ALA - West Foothills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Odyssey Institute only posted a batting average of .042.
Meanwhile, Tonopah Valley suffered their closest loss since February 28th on Friday. They fell just short of River Valley by a score of 4-2. The Phoenix haven't had much luck with the Dust Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Joaquin Rascon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Joshua Amaral was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
ALA - West Foothills' victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Tonopah Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. ALA - West Foothills has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Tonopah Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went ALA - West Foothills' way against Tonopah Valley in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as ALA - West Foothills made off with a 14-3 win. Will the Guardians repeat their success, or do the Phoenix have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
