Football Recap: Lathrop Piles Up the Points Against Johansen

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Lathrop's strategy against Johansen on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Spartans blew the Vikings out of the water with a 44-0 final score. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won four games by 22 points or more so far this season.

Luz De Luna continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 247 yards and six TDs while completing 71.4% of her passes. JaLeiyah Ray helped De Luna out on the ground, picking up 122 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Lathrop didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Faith Allen, Ray, and Morgan Hegler picked up one apiece.

Lathrop's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Johansen, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lathrop will challenge Livingston at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Johansen, they will take on Central Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks' defense has only allowed 8.9 points per game this season, so the Vikings' offense will have their work cut out for them.
