Ramsay is 1-0 against Hayden since October of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Ramsay Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Hayden Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Ramsay is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Last Thursday, Ramsay got themselves on the board against John Carroll Catholic, but John Carroll Catholic never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 28-0 victory over the Cavaliers on the road. Given Ramsay's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 15th, while John Carroll Catholic is ranked 70th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Ashton Ashford, who rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Ramsay also got a significant boost from Jayden Martin, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 81 yards.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-7, which was the final score in Hayden's tilt against Wenonah on Thursday. Hayden was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-7.
Ramsay's victory lifted them to 6-2 while Hayden's loss dropped them down to 2-5.
Everything came up roses for Ramsay against Hayden in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 49-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ramsay since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
