In what's become a running theme this season, the St. Johns Country Day Spartans gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They breezed by Global Outreach Charter Academy on the road to the tune of 63-15. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-6.
St. Johns Country Day was led to victory by Kendall Proffitt and Mary Kate Kent. Proffitt scored 18 points along with seven assists and seven steals, while Kent went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 6 assists. Kent is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 21 games she's played. Ashantii Williams was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
St. Johns Country Day has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Global Outreach Charter Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
St. Johns Country Day will be playing at home against Fleming Island at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Fleming Island focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Wednesday. As for Global Outreach Charter Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge First Coast at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
