For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Seymour and Carter have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Eagles never let the Green Hornets get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Green Hornets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Seymour also got a great performance from Dannen LaVella as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. LaVella has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Corbin Johnson was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Mason Brown also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Coalfield's record is now 6-0. As for Seymour, their record now sits at 8-3.
