It was another big night for Hayden Johnson, who threw for 142 yards and five touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Declan Clancy, who gained 42 total yards and two touchdowns.
Manheim Township's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 7-1 Spring-Ford and 7-1 Harrisburg (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 62.5% over those games). As for Reading, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Manheim Township will head out on the road to face off against Penn Manor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Penn Manor will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 265th, while Manheim Township is ranked second). As for Reading, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Central York at 7:00 p.m. Central York comes into the match much higher ranked than Reading in Pennsylvania (Central York is ranked 34th, while Reading is ranked 382nd).
