Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Carrboro's Third in Last Four Outings

Carrboro won the last time they faced Durham School of the Arts, and Bakari Watkins did his part to make sure it happened again. The Carrboro Jaguars blew past the Durham School of the Arts Bulldogs 77-53 on Wednesday thanks in part to Watkins, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was his third in a row with at least ten points.

Sam Kanjorski was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine assists. That's the most assists he has posted since back in December of 2023.

Carrboro has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points per game. As for Durham School of the Arts, they dropped their record down to 2-12 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carrboro will take on Louisburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Carrboro knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Louisburg likes a good challenge. As for Durham School of the Arts, they will venture away from home to square off against Vance County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Durham School of the Arts is facing Vance County at the right time seeing as Vance County is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
