The Wausa Vikings were the 63-55 winner over the Plainview Pirates when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Wausa took a 58-43 bruising from Plainview on Friday.
Despite the defeat, Wausa had strong showings from Cashe Carlson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Brady Bloomquist, who scored 13 points. Ashton Bietz was another key contributor, scoring 3 points.
Wausa's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Plainview, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wausa will face off against Boyd County at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Boyd County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday. As for Plainview, they will head out on the road to face off against Elgin/Pope John at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
