Chiles and Leon are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The Chiles Timberwolves will be playing at home against the Leon Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.
Chiles took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 55-45 win over Community Leadership Academy.

Chiles' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Isaiah Bundrage, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, and Gabe Parks, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Bundrage has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. Christian Craig was another key player, putting up seven points.
Meanwhile, Leon entered their tilt with North Florida Christian on Tuesday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 67-56. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Eagles are ranked 494th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chiles better keep an eye on Aaron Pensel. He was instrumental in Leon's win, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Pensel a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was DeKendrick Williams, who posted 16 points and five assists.
Leon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive matches.
Leon pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points per game. As for Chiles, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Chiles and Leon are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Chiles hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 59.7 points per game. However, it's not like Leon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 59.2 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Chiles came up short against Leon when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 63-55. Will Chiles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
